VL Architects is a full-service architectural firm focused on designing thoughtful, well-crafted buildings and spaces. Our work spans residential, commercial, corporate interiors, hospitality, institutional, and educational projects, each approached with a clear understanding of proportion, material, and detail.

We guide every project from inception through completion, balancing design clarity with technical precision. Regardless of scale or budget, our goal is to deliver work that performs efficiently, builds smoothly, and exceeds our clients’ expectations.

Founded in 2008 by a husband-and-wife team, the practice is built on a collaborative approach that brings together design, technical expertise, and project leadership, allowing for a clear and coordinated process from start to finish.

With over two decades of experience, we provide comprehensive architectural services including design, detailing, code compliance, consultant coordination, and construction administration. We are licensed in multiple states and are LEED-accredited professionals.

Together, they bring a unified approach that combines design vision, technical expertise, and project management, delivering well-coordinated and efficient projects across a range of scales.

PRINCIPAL | MANAGING ARCHITECT

Haein Vieira Lisboa, AIA, LEED AP, was born in Seoul, Korea, and received her architectural education at Pratt Institute in New York.

A registered architect with over 25 years of distinguished experience, Haein is recognized for her rigorous technical expertise and refined approach to design execution. She leads the technical direction of the firm, overseeing all phases of work with a precise command of building codes, zoning, and ADA requirements, ensuring each project is resolved with clarity, efficiency, and integrity.

Her work is defined by a thoughtful integration of design and performance. As a LEED Accredited Professional, Haein is deeply committed to environmentally responsible architecture, advocating for sustainable material selection and forward-thinking construction practices. Her approach prioritizes not only efficiency and performance, but also the health, comfort, and long-term well-being of occupants and communities.

PRINCIPAL | DESIGNER ARCHITECT

Louis Vieira Lisboa was born in Faro, Portugal, and received his architectural education at CUNY New York City Technical College and Pratt Institute, earning both an AAS and a BA in Architecture.

With over 25 years of experience, Louis leads the design direction of the firm with a strong focus on practical execution and buildability. His work is grounded in a clear understanding of how projects are constructed, ensuring that design intent is aligned with cost, schedule, and construction realities from the outset.

His portfolio spans a range of project types and styles—including Classical, Art Deco, French-inspired, and contemporary—each developed with an emphasis on efficiency, coordination, and constructability. Louis approaches design as a problem-solving process, delivering solutions that are both visually compelling and technically achievable.

Closely involved throughout the construction process, he works to ensure that design is carried through with clarity and precision, minimizing conflicts and maintaining project momentum. His ability to balance design vision with practical implementation allows projects to move seamlessly from concept to completion.
